I'm allergic to white walls and have been a lifelong renter — which means I had to get good at bringing color and personality to spaces that weren't mine, with little budget and the constant reminder that it all had to come down eventually. That constraint turned out to be the best design education I could have gotten.

I also suffer from a chronic case of "I bet I could make that" — which has made me passably good at: IKEA hacks; furniture flips; sewing clothes, curtains, and bedding; painting murals; building headboards from pool noodles; using a single shower curtain from 2017 to make lamp shades, a picture mat, a sconce; and at least three things I probably should have hired out (cough replacing a kitchen sink faucet after watching half of a YouTube video cough). 

The work in this portfolio is mostly my own home. It's maximalist, colorful, and deeply personal — which is exactly the point. A space should look like the person who lives in it. (Thankfully I have a husband who doesn’t care if I tint the kitchen countertops pink.)
